We realised the economics of most token offerings in the market didn't make sense. They were designed to raise as much money without any real plan of projected expenditure or departmental needs, usually resulting in a short window of excessive marketing leading to an IDO launch, a sharp increase in price followed by a heavy decline.
We wanted to grow an organic community who believed in the use case of Liquidus, rather than investors who thought it would be a quick flip. The pre-sale gave us more than enough to build the first version of our application, at which time further strategic sales made sense. This by no means exposed us as unorganised, but more showed the ability to adapt requirements according to the businesses needs.
